Due to a pandemic, many galleries have been temporarily closed, but at Seo-myeon Museum you can still get a bit of a cultural fix. The Sweet Dreams exhibition is being displayed there until August 30th, 2020. The exhibition is curated by Art Lab and features a variety of artists; E3, Ram, Mark & Sol, Kwon Sin, Rozy Kim and Lee Jin Sun. The artists have collaborated to create a surreal journey through a dream-like hotel. The works feature a variety of mediums and incorporate light, darkness, tactile objects, and even offer an opportunity to contribute to the exhibition by producing your own piece of artwork. 

팬데믹(세계적 유행병) 사태로 인해 많은 갤러리들이 잠정적인 휴업에 돌입했다. 하지만 서면미술관에서는 여전히 어느 정도의 문화 생활을 즐길 수 있다. 좋은 꿈 꾸세요 전시회는 2020년 8월 30일까지다. 아트랩이 담당한 이 전시회는 다양한 작가들을 선보인다. 참 여작가 E3, 람, Mark & Sol, 권신, Rozy Kim과 이진선은 함께 꿈 속 공간 같은 초현실적인 호텔을 창조해냈다. 빛, 어둠, 촉 각 오브젝트 등 다양한 매체를 이용한 작품들은 관객들로 하여 금 자신만의 작품을 만들어내게 한다.

The exhibition is experienced like a journey through sleep; it begins in the Dream Hotel with an elevator that is set for the ‘dream’ floor. The path begins quite brightly, until an instillation of lights and mirrors in a darkened room emphasizes the dream state. This is followed by some abstract acrylic pieces that also have a darker tone. Possibly the highlight of the exhibition is a huge bed surrounded by plastic balls that visitors can interact with and play on. Some examples of common dream topics and interpretations are explained before the ‘waking up’ process. Finally guests can make their own short message on a piece of acrylic and hang them as a part of the last installation.

Sweet Dreams is a soothing experience for a relaxing day. There is not a great deal of English explanation, but that will not detract from the experience for those who cannot read Hangul; though you may want to have your dictionary ready for the dream interpretation zone !

전시는 잠에서 출발한다. 엘리베이터가 있는 꿈의 호텔에서 시작한 이 여정은 ‘꿈’의 층으로 향한다. 길 초입은 제법 밝아서, 어두운 방의 빛 설치물과 거울들이 꿈의 세계를 강조한다. 곧이어 마찬가지로 어두운 톤의 추상적인 아크릴 조각들이 보인다. 이 전시의 하이라이트는 플라스틱 공으로 둘러싸인 거대한 침대일 것이다. 관객들은 침대 위에 올라가거나 여러 방식 으로 감상할 수 있다. ‘일어나는’ 단계 전에 일반적인 꿈의 주제와 해석들을 설명해준다. 마지막으로 방문객은 아크릴 조각 에 짧은 메시지를 쓰고 걸어둘 수 있다. 

좋은 꿈 꾸세요는 여유를 즐기고 싶은 날 편안한 시간을 보낼 수 있는 전시회다. 영문 설명은 많지 않지만 한글을 읽을 수 없다고 해서 감상의 폭이 좁아지지는 않는다. 꿈 해몽 구역에서는 설명을 이해하기 위해 사전을 가져가고 싶을 지도 모르겠지만

Seo-myeon Museum is located close to the Jeonpo Cafe Street and not far from Jeonpo station. The operating hours are 11:00am until 7:00pm daily, except on Monday when they are closed. Last tickets are sold by 6:00pm, and one hour of free parking is available behind Seo-myeon Museum. Tickets are 12,000₩ for adults, 10,000₩ for adolescents and 8,000₩ for kids. There is also a special available whereby you can receive a 2,000₩ discount for following Seo-myeon Museum on Instagram (@seomyeon_museum ).   

서면미술관은 전포카페거리 근처 위치하고 있으며 전포역에서도 멀지 않다. 관람 시간은 11시부터 7시까지이고 휴무일은
