Dongbaek Pass: Revolutionizing Public Transportation

동백 패스: 대중교통의 혁명을 일으키다

- On August 1, 2023, Busan launched the Dongbaek Pass, a groundbreaking integrated discount system for public transportation.

- Commuters can receive refunds of up to 90,000 won when using Busan's public transportation services, making it part of the "Busan-type public transportation innovation plan."

- Users can register for the Dongbaek Pass through the Dongbaek Jeon app if they have a Dongbaekjeon deferred payment transportation card from Busan Bank. Those without the card can obtain one at a Busan Bank branch or apply through the app.

- The city anticipates that the implementation of the Dongbaek Pass will significantly stimulate the use of public transportation, with a potential 2-3% increase in the share of public transportation.

- As the first initiative of its kind in South Korea, Busan plans to promote the Dongbaek Pass both online through social media platforms and offline at bus stops and urban railway stations.

- The launch of the pass, as well as the series itself, showcase Busan's potential for hosting the 2030 World Expo.
