I’m Yoshida Kayoko, graduate student from Dong-Eui University. I was a BFIC international scholarship student, and then participated in the Global Correspondent Program.
Global Correspondents provide counseling and answers questions asked by foreign residents in Busan. Though I’m not a professional counselor, I listen to concerns and inquiries from the Japanese living in Busan or share helpful tips. It is really rewarding when they appreciate the counseling.
저는 동의대학교 대학원생 요시다 카요코입니다. 부산국제교류재단의 ‘우수 외국인 장학생’ 프로그램을 통해 재단을 알게 되어 쭉 관심을 가져오다 지구촌 통신원에 지원하게 되었습니다.
지구촌 통신원은 각국의 언어로 부산 거주 외국인들에게 상담을 해주는 역할을 합니다. 전문 상담원이 아니기 때문에 전문 상담을 하지는 못하지만, 부산에 거주하는 일본인들의 고충을 들어주거나 제가 알고 있는 부산 생활 팁을 알려주는 일을 하고 있습니다. 제가 상담한 사람들이 저에게 고맙다라는 말을 할 때가 가장 기억에 남고 뿌듯합니다.

Hello! I’m Hnin from Myanmar. It’s been about 3 years since I came to Korea. After my master’s degree in Korea, I’m currently on my doctoral course studying Korean Language and Literature at Dong-A University. Everything was very new to me when I first got here, but my Korean friends helped me with lots of things. Thanks to the help, I got used to Busan life and I’m now helping other foreign friends in Busan as a Global Correspondent in BFIC.
I started working as a Global Correspondent in September and I’m currently promoting living tips here to foreign residents in Busan as well as counseling the Myanmarese who can’t speak Korean. I’ve gone through many experiences since I got here. The most impressive experience I had in BFIC is that I met high school students from Myanmar at the 'Study in Busan' fair. I also shared my experience of studying in Busan and promoted the charms of the city. I remember one of the students saying “I prefer Busan to Seoul” which was really cute.
안녕하세요! 저는 미얀마에서 온 흐닌 위이마웅입니다. 저는 한국에 온 지 약 3년 정도 되었고, 한국에서 석사과정을 마친 후 현재 동아대학교 국어국문학과 박사과정에 재학 중입니다. 처음 한국에 왔을 때는 모든 것이 낯설었지만 한국 친구가 수강신청 등 여러 한국 생활을 도와줬습니다. 그 이후, 한국 생활에 적응할 수 있었고, 지금은 제가 오히려 부산국제교류재단에서 지구촌 통신원으로 활동하며 한국에 있는 외국인 친구들이 한국에서 잘 적응할 수 있도록 도와주고 있습니다.
저는 지구촌 통신원으로 9월부터 일하고 있으며, 부산 거주 외국인들을 대상으로 생활정보, 취업정보, 대외활동 등을 홍보하고, 한국어를 못하는 미얀마 사람들을 위해 각종 상담을 하고 있습니다. 길다면 길고, 짧으면 짧다고 할 수 있는 이 기간 동안 여러 가지 경험을 했습니다. 가장 기억에 남는 것은 부산국제교류재단의 부산유학설명회 행사 때 부산에 방문한 미얀마 고등학생들을 만났던 일입니다. 미얀마 학생들에게 한국의 유학생활 경험을 공유하며 부산의 매력들도 알려줬습니다. 학생 중 한 명이 “서울보다 부산이 더 좋아요”라고 말한 것이 귀여웠고 기억에 남았습니다.
Nazym | Mongolia
Greetings! I'm Nazym. I am from Mongolia. Now, I am studying in the Engineering Department of Pusan National University. I started working as a Global Correspondent at BFIC in September. Working at a huge place like BFIC is really eye-opening to me. I translate information to Mongolian and sometimes to English. Knowing 6 languages, including my mother tongue, is really helping me in this field. Following these experiences, I began to learn how to work with the team. And it is a great chance to improve my Korean skills as well!
When I first heard from my Korean teacher that BFIC was looking for international staff, I had a feeling that I mustn’t let this chance slip. Working at BFIC, I am gaining more experiences such as getting familiar with office work, working in a big team, and of course, making new friends. This eye-opening experience will remain one of the greatest memories of my life, and surely, the experiences I gained here, will always help me wherever I will be working in the future.
안녕하세요! 저는 몽골에서 온 네이짐입니다. 현재 부산대학교에 재학 중이예요. 9월부터 부산국제교류재단에서 지구촌통신원으로 일하고 있습니다. 부산국제교류재단처럼 큰 기관에서 일하는 건 정말이지 눈이 번쩍 뜨이는 경험이에요! 저는 주로 자료들을 몽골어로 번역하는 일을 하고 있는데 가끔 은 영어로도 번역해요. 모국어 포함 총 6개 언어를 할 수 있는 점은 제가 이 분야에서 일하는 데 큰 도움이 됩니다. 이곳에서의 경험을 통해 다같이 일하는 법을 배우고 있어요. 게다가 한국어 실력을 늘일 수 있는 좋은 기회이기도 하고요!
제 한국어 선생님께서 부산국제교류재단에서 외국인 직원을 찾고 있다고 말씀해 주셨을 때 저는 이 기회를 놓쳐서는 안 되겠다고 생각했습니다. 재단에서 일하며 사무 업무와 팀으로 일하는 법을 배우고 있어요. 물론 새로운 친구를 사귀는 법도요. 이 놀라운 경험은 제 삶의 최고의 기억으로 남을 거예요. 그리고 이곳에서 얻은 모든 것이 제 미래에 큰 도움이 될 것이라 믿어요!

Hello. I’m Madi, a Global Correspondent at BFIC. I’m studying Environmental Engineering at Pusan National University and it has been 2 years since I came to Korea. I first join BFIC as an international scholarship student and began to work as a Global Correspondent after an interview in April.
I come to Busan Global Center Lounge on Fridays from 10A.M. to 5P.M. I check if there is any counseling or inquiry about Kazakhstan over the week and begin counseling. I also promotes events held in Busan in Kazakh on Busan Global Center Facebook(1577-7716) for Kazakh residents in Busan. In particular, Diana, a Russian counselor of Busan Global Center, has been a great help to me.
안녕하세요, 저는 지구촌통신원 마디 쿠르트바예브라고 합니다. 부산대학교 환경공학과에 재학 중이고, 한국에 온 지는 2년 되었습니다. 부산국제교류재단에는 유학생 인턴십 사업으로 처음 참여하게 되어, 올해 4월에 면접을 보고 부산글로벌센터에서 지구촌통신원으로 근무하게 되었습니다.
저는 금요일에 부산글로벌센터 교류라운지로 출근합니다. 오전 10시부터 오후 5시까지 근무하는데, 오전에 출근하면 일주일 동안 카자흐스탄 관련 상담, 문의가 있는지 확인하고 상담을 진행합니다. 또한, 부산글로벌센터 페이스북(Busan Global Center 1577-7716)에 부산에서 개최되는 행사들을 카자흐어로 포스팅하여 부산 거주 카자흐스탄 사람들에게 알리기도 합니다. 특히, 부산글로벌센터의 러시아 상담원 디아나씨에게 많은 도움을 받고 있습니다.
