 “I’m a simple guy with a complicated story. My roots are in the American Midwest. My early adult life was spent joyfully in Quebec City. Since then, I have lived in 8 countries. I have been writing professionally since 1994 when I got my first story published chronicling my 6 month boat trip from Istanbul to Amsterdam via the Danube. Busan has been our happy home since 2015 with my wife and two children at BFIS and me writing and editing at the Busan Beat since January 2017. When I am not writing or studying Korean, I am walking the beach or sleeping on a bench on top of the mountain behind my house in Haeundae. Life is good!”

 “나는 복잡한 사연이 있는 단순한 사람이라고 할 수 있다. 나는 미국 중서부 출신으로, 젊은 시절을 캐나다 퀘백에서 보냈고, 이후 8개의 나라에서 살아보았다. 1994년 다뉴브강을 지나 이스탄불에서 암스테르담까지 6개월의 보트 여행에 관한 첫 번째 이야기를 출판한 후, 나는 전문적으로 글을 써오고 있다. 2015년부터 아내와 부산국제외국인학교에 다니는 두 아이들과 함께 부산에서 지내고 있으며, 2017년 1월 이후 부산에서 계속 글을 써오고 있다. 글을 쓰거나 한국어 공부를 하지 않을 때는 해운대 해변을 걷거나 집 뒷산에 올라가 낮잠을 자곤한다. 얼마나 좋은 삶인가!”

“Thank you readers for taking the time to browse through our magazine. It took a lot of effort to assemble. Frankly, I was hesitant to take on the responsibilities of co-editor, but am so glad I did. At first I was reluctant considering the task at hand, however this turned out to be one of the best decisions I made so far this year.
